The Garden City Lodge 911 of the Fraternal Order of Police was chartered in 1992 with 15 members from the Garden City Police Department, and has grown to 223 active members and 134 associate members from various departments, law enforcement agencies, businesses and friends.

Over the years, our membership has been able to network with members of other lodges in New York and across the country for professional, social, or emergency purposes. These diverse contacts continue to prove an invaluable part of our fraternalism. A favorite event to network is at our yearly wine and cheese friendship night, where in an atmosphere of congeniality, many personal and professional relationships are born and renewed.

We have been involved in many projects over past years. Our lodge was one of the first in the country to have a fraternal order of police honor guard and car. I am proud to say, that our honor guard has become the New York State Fraternal Order of Police Honor Guard serving our members, and our fallen brothers and sisters.

The Lodge Car, a 1967 Ford Mustang, has markings that say "Don't Drink and Drive,STOP-DWI, Say No to Drugs" as well as sporting the lodge logo and name. The car has been used in parades, as a pace car for Riverhead Raceway, during the police memorial week in Washington, DC, escorts, car shows, special events and with the state honor guard.
