The NYS FOP Law Enforcement Officers Lodge 911 was originally chartered as the Garden City
Lodge 911 of the Fraternal Order of Police on May 25th, 1992 with 15 members from the Garden
City Police Department.  As the Lodge grew in numbers and came to include a diversity of
members from various law enforcement agencies and departments, the name of the Lodge was
changed to the Law Enforcement Officers Lodge 911 on May 23rd, 2011.  The Lodge has also
expanded its membership to include "Associate" members.  Associate members are non-law
enforcement people comprised of family members and friends who support law enforcement and
are sponsored by an "Active" member of the FOP.  Lodge 911 currently has over 370 Active
members and over 110 Associate members.

Over the years, our membership has been able to network with members of other Lodges in New
York and across the country for professional, social, or emergency purposes.  These diverse
contacts continue to prove an invaluable part of our fraternalism.  A favorite event to network is at
our yearly wine and cheese friendship night where, in an atmosphere of congeniality, many
personal and professional relationships are born and renewed.

We have been involved in many projects over past years.  Our Lodge was one of the first in the
country to have a Fraternal Order of Police Honor Guard and car.  I am proud to say, that our
Honor Guard has become the New York State Fraternal Order of Police Honor Guard serving our
members, and our fallen brothers and sisters.

The Lodge Car, a 1967 Ford Mustang, has markings that say "Don't Drink and Drive, STOP-DWI,
Say No to Drugs" as well as sporting the Lodge logo and name.  The car has been used in
parades, as a pace car at Riverhead Raceway for Stop DWI campaigns, during the Police Memorial
week in Washington, DC, escorts, special events and with the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle -
Governor's Traffic Safety Committee and the NYS Stop-DWI coordinators.
We invite you to explore our website and see the many activities we are involved in.
